Playing catch up...

When you have beautiful and talented friends it's easy to get so busy that you don't have enough time for each other!!!! My best friend Laurel and I used to be roomies in University but since graduating we have been so busy that we haven't had time for a proper date night. SO finally over this past weekend we had the same night off and shared an early evening dinner with drinks at my place. As you must know already, I think its important to play a good hostess and put extra effort into the evening (especially when people trek to your house to see you). So here are simple ideas to make an laid back girls night a little more special :)

Bring out your best stuff! I used my grown up napkins, cute side plates, used my favourite candles and made water infused with cucumber and berries. Yumm.

Go all out and BAKE! I made Peanut butter chocolate chip cookies! Such as easy recipe... 1 cup of peanut butte, 1/2 cup of brown sugar and one egg. Mix together and cook at 350 for 7-10 mins. Deelish!

Laurel brought wine but I also got a tasty Elderflower Cider. one tall can split between two glasses on ice with some frozen fruit. Garnishing always makes things feel fancier and more fun.

What we ate? Well we had a big plate of homemade nachos. Laurel brought a delicious new cheese to try and then we added green pepper, onion and tomato. We didn't have to add much because we also made...

..Homemade guacamole! We used 3 ripe avocados, frech coriander, lime juice, tomoato and red onion for this flavourful homemade dip. So filling and so good (we also had some salsa, of course)

Our dessert!

When you haven't seen friends in a while I think its nice to make the night special in simple ways. You don't need to break the bank to create memories with your bestest girlfriends :).
