Inspiring weekend

What an exciting and inspiring weekend I had. There was teaching ad choreographing, girlie time, an aerial workshops showing, a movie date solo, dinner date and now time to blog.

Come see EXPOSED featuring the Performance Team at Cirque Ability. This is a kick ass group of gals who will blow your socks off with their aerial and dance skills. Working on this piece has been so much fun and I can't wait for these ladies to rock the house on Saturday.

And more Aerial Inspiration... I got to see Aer Time featuring new works in progress performed by Toronto Aerialists. There was some really unique and beautiful work happening and the set up of the whole event was all about the development of new work. Definitely a positive thing for the aerial community.

UTOPIA is a new favourite dinner spot of mine! Its my second time this month, but its a cosy little restaurant with yummy burritos, nachos, salads and burgers. Its nothing too fancy, but it's well priced with a small wine list and yummy beers and just a friendly good vibe all around. Check it out if you can, and you can split the burrito...just sayin :)

PINA where have you been all my life!? I finally saw the movie Pina in 3d and I was blown away. I had a little date with myself and went all alone but it was the perfect way to see such a beautiful and passionate film.  Watching women with gorgeous long hair all over the place wearing long dresses and dancing in the elements was so exciting. What a remarkable woman, and a remarkable film. A dancer must see!

1,2,3

A couple months ago I was walking home from a martini night and I picked up this wonderful little shelf on the side of the road. It's become a lovely addition to my kitchen with books and candles, coffee mugs and anything else that suits it. And a couple other lovely gems to look at.  Have a beautiful day!
still have some space to fill up.

New little hook from Urban Outfitters. And..it was on sale.

I love these! I call them my grown up napkins. They are different patterned fabric napkins from a place called Wicker Emporium. Unfortunately it's not in Toronto so I got these beauties in the Eastcoast. Can't wait for my next dinner party.

More than just Pasta

On my walk home one evening I stopping into this pasta place on Ossington. I was always curious about their home made pasta they advertised so I went in to check it out. I was greeted by three lively and kind gentlemen who were passionate about this product and very friendly. They explained that they make their own pasta in house, and that because they make it with soy protein it has the same amount of protein as two steaks but half the carbs of regular pasta! Crazy right...but true!  As a dancer and circus gal I need this sort of protein in my diet and they said it'll fill you right up. They also had amazing pasta sauces that they made like Ground Turkey Bolognese. I bought some linguini and a sauce and was totally blown away by my dinner. It was reasonably priced, super close to home and the best part its made local and with a lot of love.

pretty things this week

Bouquet at my work.

New skirt I bought! I never thought I would like a long skirt because I'm so short but I couldn't resist this piece. From my favourite Bicyclette

New serving tray I purchased and two new little dishes I filled up with jewellery. I love having my accessories in the open so I don't forget about them.
