Pussycat doll hair

I'm growing my hair out because I want long luscious locks again!!! Its getting there, I can see some progress. But there was definitely some frustrating awkward states. And I thank the pussycat dolls for their hair inspiration...that's about it though :)

Dressing in the cold

Brrrrr

Its winter...and I've forgotten how to look good in winter! Had to spend some time in my wardrobe reminding myself that layering is key, and being cold isn't cool!

This one was my fave- a vintage lace top under my warm knit from Bicyclette with a chunky necklace. The sweater is cropped in the front so the lace can peak out top and bottom. I was warm and girly without feeling like a big marshmallow marching around the streets of TO :)

Art everyday, anywhere

Saw this on the hood of a car one early morning on my walk to work. It made me smile.

Back to the grind

Whoa, January has been kicking my butt. Hence my big gaps in posting anything new. Getting back to work, teaching, training, auditioning and on top of that I'm working on a new dance piece. Its a lot but I am  so happy to be back in Toronto living my busy artsy fartsy life!

The link below will take you to the Facebook group that has info about the upcoming fusion piece I'm working on with Parahumans dance company. It's going to be at the Fleck Theatre which I'm so excited about, it's a beautiful stage I've been waiting to dance on.

See you there. xo.

Oh Brother...

Nope. Not a sigh of sadness or a reference to my biological big bro...but rather introducing my new sewing machine.

A special someone gave me this for Christmas! Along with a big craft book with new ideas and inspiration. I was so surprised and so happy with my new toy. I'm planning new craft projects and buying supplies this week to get started. Stay tuned for new amazing crafts.

Landed.

Ahhhh...

I had a breath of relief and relaxation today as I returned back to my lovely little home. I love leaving and visiting where I grew up or taking trips elsewhere, but I love coming back to my home base.  I miss my pretty things and all the  people who are in my every day life. And, I think I've become a creature of habit as I've gotten older. I just like getting up and writing with no noise, going to my favourite coffee shop, getting groceries where I like and just being on my own schedule.

I think this is a good thing though. I think it means growing up, and that I've set up a place that I love coming home to in Toronto. Plus, there are some special people in TO who help make this big city a wonderful place to live, love and laugh.

Excuse me now, I'm going to prepare a lobster lunch...Oh, I forgot to mention, I picked some up before I left the east coast. Couldn't help myself! Deeeelish.

New Year

HAPPY 2012!!

Resolutions, goals, whatever you want to call them, the New Year definitely brings a new awareness. This year I have no crazy goals or unobtainable ones, instead I want to introduce some new concepts in my life and try them out.

1. I want to buy food that is local and in season. This is something I've been wanting to do for a while but with finances and accessibility it hasn't always been possible. But now, I feel ready in my life to commit to purchasing food (especially meat) that is local and properly raised/fed.

2. Round off backhandspring and a standing back tuck. Okay, for any other acrobatic monkeys out there you'll get this one. I train circus quite often and I needed to pick some new tricks for the New Year to work on. These are them, and they are awesome

3. Space. Just continuing to make space in my life for people I love and things I love. Its easy to smother yourself with work and not leave time for the things that really matter.

Now they're in writing.
